Well, you can be to some of the best lakes and rivers Colorado has to offer within an hour to an hour and a half from the Springs. Your weight rod depends on what you'd like to do. For some of the rivers (creeks and tributaries by Northwest standards) a four weight if fine. If you want to go to the reservoirs then I would bring a six weight to deal with large fish and the possibility of wind.
I saw your post about being in Colorado in late June; I live in Colorado Springs and work in Woodland Park . If you'd like some advice or even hook up and fish, just hit me up. Is there anything in particular you would like to know?
