The wife and I have an anniversary coming up we are looking to get away for a week in early April to celebrate. She told me to find a place where I can fish and take photographs. :)

I prefer river fishing. Any place in the western U.S or Canada is fair game. She doesn't fish herself, so it would be nice if there were other activities in the area as well.

    Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Montana. Try the Big Hole or the Madison.

I can imagine no place prettier than a spring day on the Big Hole.

If your going to Montana, don't forget to check out Rock Creek. Early April can be tricky in SW Montana because of Runoff. If you hit it right the fishing can be red hot. If the rivers are blown head up to the Missouri.

If your wife does not care to fish Missoula can be a great place to stay with numerous places to fish, all with in an easy hours drive. Same with Bozeman.

I sure hope the ice comes off the Big Hole before then.

Thanks for the ideas about Montana. We've spent some time in Ennis before and greatly enjoyed it.
