There are tons of bluefish all over the NE coast right now. Mainly 3-5 pounds but a lot of fun and they hit hard. Make sure you use a steel leader and I like the epoxy flies because they hold up better on the sharp teeth.
I lived there for a few years, and while it seemed the better stream fishing was sometimes to be found in the surrounding states, there are some nice options. About 45 mins. west of Boston is the Swift River, which holds a great trout population. Picky fish, however. The Deerfield is a longer drive but holds large browns and rainbows- be sure to check the dam releases before heading out for this one. My favorite was the Quinapoxet River just north of Worchester ( about an hours drive ). This small stream is great if you are looking for some solitude, and don't mind fishing for smallish brookies, although I saw large holdover bows caught and released there. Hope this helps.
for the latest reports out there check out the "On The Water" magazine website(www.onthewater.com). They have a bunch of links as well. The fishing should be really good for you in that area, if you wanted to travel an 1.5 hours north I could put you onto some in Southern Maine ( I was a charter boat captain out there before moving to Seattle this year). Give me a shout if you have any questions about what to use this time of year.:thumb
If you see a report when I come back, I tapped in to the fish - if no report, it's probably not because I'm keeping secrets.

You can be a fish recycler, too. Let 'em swim.
