Just curious what you all think about the ideal streamer rod setup. I am going to build one to be used with a sink tip throwing some gnarly streamers for monster browns, I was thinking about making a 10' 7wt with a +/-300 grain sink tip line. I figured the extra foot would really get that sink tip line to turn over on the roll casts getting a bit more distance....am I wrong for feeling this way? haha

I enjoy using a 10' 7 wt. rod when fishing Yakima size water and larger, when fishing lakes in a float tube or on a pontoon. The added length comes in very handy when drifting nymphs or throwing streamers.
