Artists they run the river with me are-

    AC/DC
    Nirvana
    Ozzy
Billy Idol ( Where'd he come from?)
    Mark Knopfler
And the late , great ,
    John Cash ... Classic -

I agree with Mingo, Claypool along with being a cool dued is a big fly guy ...
Wynona's big brown beave is a screem!!! Hey Mingo, What's the tune where Less and the boys are playing under the dead oak tree, with less on the big old upright bass ?
Les does the Mingo "O" face too!!

I agree with all your choices except Nirvana. I have no room for angst on my fishing triips and their shit is too damn negative for my taste. Now Claypool.........is the man. Very underrated as a musician, seems fun to fish with and has the perfect attitude about the sport....... does a pretty damn good "O" too. .not sure about the dead tree vid either, but I hear they are re-doing Wynona's Big Brown Beaver to fit modern grooming tendencies. The new version will be called "Wynona's Bald Brazilian Beaver". They did one a couple years ago called "Wynona's Landing Strip Taco" but it sat on the shelf too long due to label politics and was defunct by the time they were going to put it out.

People must be bored. Quit bringing up old posts. Shit, start a new one. This one is three years old.

I thought it important to add two songs to your "fishing list". Both are from "Troll for Trout".

The first song is "The River Song" (Opener Song) that is about the long winter and daydreaming of the last Saturday in April (opening weekend here in Michigan for trout season). Way cool song.

The second is not entirely about fishing, but it is all about the reason we all fish. It is called "Rancho Relaxo".

Check them out on iTunes. Will be a sure bet addition to your fishing list.

Thanks for all the posts as I've now added many more to my ipod for the long trips north to the trout stream in the summer!!!

    Crystal by Stevie Nicks
    Practical Magic soundtrack (1998)

Do you always trust your first initial feeling
Special knowledge holds truth bears believing
    I turned around
And the water was closing all around
    Like a glove
Like the love that had finally, finally found me
    Then I knew
In the crystalline knowledge of you
    Drove me thru the mountains
Thru the crystal-like clear water fountain
    Drove me like a magnet
    To the sea

How the faces of love have changed turning
    the pages
And I have changed oh, but you...you remain
    ageless
    I turned around
And the water was closing all around
    Like a glove
Like the love that had finally, finally found me
    Then I knew
In the crystalline knowledge of you
    Drove me thru the mountains
Thru the crystal-like clear water fountain
    Drove me like a magnet
    To the sea

OK... I'm going to invite the hate, heat and flames...:clown:

    Billy Joel's "The Downeaster "Alexa"

(Also: Been mentioned but "Fisherman Blues" by the Waterboys is classic. JJ Cale/Eric Clapton's song "Ride the River" makes me want to chuck everything and jump in my drift boat every time I hear it.)

I always thought line two goes:
"Bet your life, your sweet WIFE, catch more fish than you"

"I'm a going fishin', and my baby's going fishn' too"

Add Danny O'Keefe 'Chasing Rainbows' to the list
