The best for the buck? W.W.Grigg GX series. At Outdoor Emporium they run $30-60 dollars. You can even go up a grade, yet still stay under $100.

All my buddies that are not snobs are blown away by the quality. Sure I could get more by spending more, but the Grigg rods beat all the rods in the $200 range.

I have also seen some Cortland rods for under $100 that seem pretty good at first glance. I am tempted to try one of their 4-5 wts out.

If you want a good rod, don't just look up, look down, too.

best rod for your buck has to be st. croix, all their models are great rods at a really great price, plus they have a lifetime guarantee, can't beat it.
