Going to longview this weekend, should I bring a rod?

    So im heading down to a buddies house this weekend in longview to do some duck hunting... staying at his dad's house on the columbia. Should I bring a fly rod, I may have some time in the afternoon and evening to give it a try, will pretty much be isolated to shore fishing on the river in front of his house.

    should I even bother bring a rod? Have a 4,6 and 8wt to choose from

    I think you would have much better luck duck hunting if you bring a shot gun.

    Lake Sacajawea is down there. It was recently planted with trout.

    I think you should look at it as an opportunity to gather fly tying materials and commune with buddies. If you go fishing, you will miss the party!!!!
