Does anyone know much about bamboo rods? I just bought an old Grampus bamboo rod for $100. It was made in Japan. I'm not sure how old it is, post WWII I would guess. The original sticker was on the side of the wooden case it came in and it says $4.00. It is in great shape from what I can tell. Some of the thread wraps are coming loose, but otherwise it seems like it is in great shape. It is a three peice rod. Is there a easy and cheap way to fix the thread wraps? I have no experience with rod building, and I can't afford to pay a profesiional to restore, so I was hoping maybe the threads could be repaired with expoxy, or something. Also, I was wondering about the value of the rod. Did I pay too much? Any info would be appreciated.
