Heard a lot about Kanaskat and finally I got there...
But I found the only one spot where can I fish with fly rod because river access is poor. These steep banks with overhanging trees give advantage for spinning gear. Is there are places near the park to fish more in "traditional fly-fishing style" i.e. wade-and-swing?

I was just up there last weekend. If you take a turn off before
you get to the park, there is a lot of good access. I am not sure of the name of the road, but it was marked with a big sign for Tacoma Public Utilities. It is the road to get to the dam. If you look in the gazetter for our state, you should be able to see what I am talking about. I made a couple of wrong turns but found it within a half an hour. Lots of nice pocket water emptying into some very big pools. By the way, we did not have any luck when we were up there.
