I just drove past the Green River on Highway 18. Is the Green open there? Any suggestions on flies, etc.?

    Hey there,
The Green is currently closed 'till June so as to let the greater portion of the wild steelies do the "wild thing" unmolested.
When it does open in June you'll have a lot of water to explore if your wading skills will allow.
You can fish at the "Meat Hole" there under the '18 bridge, but you'll likely find a little more elbow room if you start at Flaming Geyser(you'll see a sign directing you to it at the exit) and work your way down to Whitney Bridge Park. There are others on this board who can give you more info Metzler Park, which is closer to the '18 than the two forementioned.
The flies I'll be using opening day will probably be #4 or bigger purple egg-sucking leeches, greenbutted skunks,and/or a variety of brightly colored marabou streamers. Standard flies in other words.
    Anyway hope this helps,
    Larry
