Here's one that all Hood Canal fly fishers should take note of... House Bill 2463. First read 1/17/2002, this bill proposes to "temporarily" close Hood Canal sportfishing via the creation of The Hood Canal Marine Sanctuary. You can read this bill at www.leg.wa.gov/wsladm/billinfo/dspBillSummary.cfm?billnumber=2463
While I'm totally in favor of fish recovery in Hood Canal, I don't feel that catch and release fly fishing has any significant impact on these stocks. Hope I'm not the only one.

I hope that includes all the indian salmon dumping, they probly got thousands of wild silvers in the area last year. they were all washed washed up on the beaches, same with cutthroat. mainly fly fishers only fish the canal huh. except salmon runs, or shellfish. I'm probly wrong. Ben

Nope, Tribal fishing will not be effected by the creation the Marine Sanctuary.

Just received e-mail from Representative Jim Buck. The bill died two weeks ago according to him.
