I came upon this article in another forum. It is written buy ##### Goin.It is based on an oral presentaion given back in 2000 on the state of the fisheries in the olympic national park.It is interesting when you put it up against the escapments put out buy the state. We are enjoying a year of some of the best androminous fishing in alot of years. Is it even close to what it should or used to be? Don't let the state fool you! Check it out at www.drizzle.com/~rdpayne/opa-goin1.htm

Yes, it is an interesting read. but what hits me is that this is happening with in ONP. We still think of these runs as being strong and vibrant, but this stock assessment shows that they are much weaker than that. What does this imply about the runs in the Puget Sound that are so much more greatly effected? Its quite sad. Are we to watch the demise of native anadromous fish while mutant hatchery fish from hell take over? Sad. Very sad.
