For those of you not hitting the salt / estuaries, Leech fished well today. Hit the lake about 1300, kinda beezy out of the west. A few rises. Caught fish on an olive green Hale Bopp & yellowish green soft hackle. Wind died down quite nicely and the mays started coming off. Switched to parachute Adams and had rather good action. It was a mix bag of brookies & trips, mostly trips. About 8 other craft on the water. That use fee really irks me, as I know it does many of you - be warned they were checking each vehicle....
Actually, the $5.00 fee applies to all State Parks. Leech lake is located on the National Forest. I'm pretty sure its the Northwest Forest Pass that is necessary for Leech. I had to buy one last year.
