Lower Stilly Float - Advice?

A buddy and me are thinking of floating down from the I5 bridge this weekend (I know we need to stay river right to avoid the spillway.. at least it looked that way on the topo map).

My question is more of distance. It looks like it is about 8 or 9 river miles down to Marine drive. Is that doable, or should we be looking to take out at Norman road?

Any advice to keep me out of trouble?

Thanks!

Be advised that the lower portion (3 or 4 miles - basically from where the two channels come back together) is tidal. On an incoming tide you will be basically rowing upstream and potentially with a strong up river flow. Be sure to check the tide tables or be prepare to wait out the high water push.
