I'm heading up to Winthrop in early April, and am hoping to spend a morning or afternoon fishing. Last year I fished the Methow River in June and had great success. Has anyone fished that river in early Spring? If so, any recommedations on patterns? Any other recommendations on places to fish near Winthrop? Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

    Fish on!

    Fish till ya drop.
    Then suck it up
    and fish the evening hatch.

Check your Seasonal Closures! Then look for a lake to fish. :EEK

Regs are at home. The river is closed, huh? That's too bad.

Check your regs but i would fish big twin lake up there with
either chironomids or wooly buggers, it has a good number of big bows.

Doesn't BT open on the general WA lake opener in late April?

I've never been there to fish that early but I have been over several times in the beginning of May and I have 3 words for you - Big Twin Lake. There are several parts of the lake where it drops off sharply at about 8-10 feet. Fish these edges slooowwwllly, stay alert and hang on!
