Need help with line weight

    I bought a reel came with what owner said it had Aircel 556gr head 30ft in length how do you tell what it really is?

    A grain scale (your fly shop might have one) will tell you the exact weight .

    A basic electronic kitchen scale that can read grams will get you darn close. Take the grams and multiply times 15.432 and you will have the grains. Your 556gr head should be approximately 36 grams.
