I hope this doesn't mar what I consider the best FF classifieds out there. Every time I buy something I think if I don't like it or need it someone on WFF will.

Scott Martin reminds me of Charlie Wenzel, the star of the internet defrauders, who reached fame when he tried to defraud a buyer on pirate4x4.com. Now his name is apart of the Urban dictionary as in being "wenzeled"

    Urban Dictionary: wenzeled

Reportedly, the story of Charlie Wenzel and what he did has been the point of discussion in classes about ethics.

Google Charlie Wenzel and see what happens.

"wenzeled".. the sad story of internet scammer Charlie Wenzel - RedFlagDeals.com Forums

On a more positive note, I just received the rods from newtyer1 that I had paid for back in mid january on the Fiberglass Flyrodders Forum. He ("smartin" on the FFR forum) was banned there and I did not realize that he was "newtyer1 on this and the FAOL boards until Mayfly aviator made the original post with his name here. So thanks to Mayfly aviator for helping me out in contacting Scott and completing my overdue transaction! Glad I was a member here or I might never have found him. So for me a happy ending, I am going fishing with my new rods!!

    S Fontinalis,

Fontinalis, I know you are in Philly and harder conversations are had over the best tastycake and who makes the best cheese steaks in town. Lived in West Philly coaching at PENN, and grew up about 30 miles away, it's a small City close the to the heart. A lot of us would appreciate your reconsideration...Also, you have not let us know how the remainder of your degree has worked out.

In keeping with the positive spin, Jerry, bugs are in the box and will be mailed out this week. I'm not as gifted as others, but the bugs I sent you catch fish, not fishermen!

Contact info was sent to the local PHWFF coordinator nearest to my home this evening. Its time to step up fellas, be the difference.

I dedicate this to whomever Scott Martin is. Listen to the entire song Scott Martin, then look in the mirror:

Keeping it positive, some of you wanted to know what you can do to help our wounded soldiers.

I donated this box of flies to PHW for wounded marines at Fort Belvior and the Quantico Marine Base.

My friend, Bob Gartner, runs the program at Fort Belvior and they share flies with the Quantico PHW programs. You can find them on

Has the SE flyfishing forum been notified about Martin? I don't see any posts about it.

Yes, I notified the list owner. I don't think he has pulled his stunts on SEFF so I don't know what will happen. It is up to him to deal with it.

I am also donating a ton of flies to PHW as well. Our sport has been tarnished by this guy. I think we should all do something to bring the dignity back into it. Donate something to PHW.

There was a guy down in Colorado Springs, Colorado who successfully pulled off a scam like this. He was able to convince a bunch of soldiers at Fort Carson he was the real deal. He eventually got caught but was not prosecuted and is back at it again.

I applaud all you guys who have not allowed this one bad apple, Martin, to tarnish Wounded Warriors and PHW.
