Do the blanks usually have logos on them? I just had a rod built for me. The guy says its a sage blank. but there is no info on it that says "Sage" anything. Is there a way I can tell?

OF THE COUNTLESS RODS I HAVE BUILT, THEY ALL HAVE CAME WITH A LOGO TYPE STICKER THAT YOU PUT ON INDICATING THE MANUFACTURER AND WHAT BLANK IT IS. OF COURSE THEY WANT TO ADVERTISE THIER PRODUCT AND TO GIVE YOU A WAY TO IDENTIFY AND KNOW WHAT TYPE IT IS. BUT THERE AGAIN, IT IS UP TO YOU TO DECIDE IF YOU WANT IT ON THE BUILT ROD. SOUNDS TO ME LIKE WHOEVER BUILT YOUR ROD LEFT IT OFF FOR ONE REASON OR ANOTHER. I WOULD HAVE A HARD TIME THINKING YOU COULD GET ANOTHER STICKER FROM SAGE, BUT YOU COULD USE A FINE BRUSH AND PAINT ON IT THE SPECIFICS BY THE HOOK KEEPER WHERE THE LOGO SHOULD GO. EITHER THAT, OR TAKE IT BACK AND TELL HIM YOU WANT THAT INFORMATION PUT ON THE ROD UNDERNEATH FLEX COAT OR SOME OTHER ROD COATING. NOT SURE WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF YOU SENT THE ROD BACK TO SAGE IF YOU BROKE IT AND THEY WOULD HONOR THE BLANK AS IT HAS NO INFORMATION. NEVER HAD THAT HAPPEN BEFORE... GOOD LUCK, GREG :CONFUSED

i recently purchased a sage rod off a rod builder claiming to be making sage xp's for only 175. i have the same problem as you, there isn't anything on the rod to identify if it is in fact made from sage blanks.

At my company we build custom rods and all name brand rods do comre with a sticker showing sage,Loomis,Lamiglass ect. The rod that you may have gotten may have been a Sage but probaly a factory second and theu company will not send a sticker with these rods becuase they are not perfect rods. Thanks Scott
