shad flies

    i am seeking some shad flies as i am going to thesnake or columbia next week. anyone have some ideas what to fish with? thanks, mike w

    These work for me.

    The most consistent is the red and white guy. I've caught the majority of shad I've landed with that one.

    put some barbell eyes on a plain gold hook. it'll work as well as anything. maybe a little crystal flash for good measure.

    Last time I was there a few years ago we used Cabela's 1/16th and 1/8th oz jig heads with short curly tail grub bodies. Our main issue was getting enough depth down to the shad. We fished the same area Evan did.
