... or, I should clarify, in the air this morning.

Took an early morning trip to a river today with a friend. Saw a few fish, hooked a few too, even landed some whitefish which was cool.

Wasn't lights out by any stretch, but I had a nice time chatting with a friend, the air was surprisingly warm, and the water was green and dropping, which is the best.

But by far and away the coolest thing was seeing this massive golden eagle. It's the first one I've seen since moving here. We saw a pair of bald eagles, which, despite seeing them frequently, still fascinate and impress me. But, after seeing the bald eagles, the golden was simply huge by comparison.

Hard to get any perspective in a photo, and my cell phone pic isn't the best, but thought I'd share nonetheless. Awfully cool birds, with all of the dead/dying salmon around, these raptors must be stuffed, the river is a veritable moving buffet for them!

I love goldens. We get quite a few around here. They can get unbelievably big.
