    The Crazy Comet is a steelhead pattern, a proud member of the Comet family of flies.

    Hook: Tiemco 202SP #4
    Thread: Benecchi 12/0, black
    Eyes: Bead chain
    Body: Diamond Braid, hot pink
    Tail: Bucktail, dyed purple
    Flash: Krystal Flash, fluorescent shrimp pink
    Hackle: Whiting Coq de Leon hen saddle, dyed dark purple

    As usual, a very nice tie. I can see an application for our Pink Salmon run later this summer, given a few color changes like a bright pink hackle. Thanks for the inspiration.

    Very nice fly and great presentation. I also can see some other applications of this pattern. Substitute some yellow wraps of braid for the body, add some tan bucktail and krystal flash and wrap with an
    olive collar, to make a nice bait fish pattern for bass.
