Hello, was wondering what the status is on the Sauk, is it ok to fish it now due to the fires and all? I'll be there tomorrow with my father inlaw and friend. We will be there for me to teach them on how to flyfish and also there for the scenery. Thanks for the info!
Yeah,it's open but be prepared as the Suaittle and the White Chuck are dumping glacial melt into the river so it might be rather dirty. You could fish it from the White Chuck up and be safe in the color of it but it might be a little low.and access is some what limited. Or you could go over and fish the Skagit from Rockport up as it's clear up there.
Fished it yesterday. Did well with the dolly's and some nice cutts. There are large pockets of pinks up there to (scolded a snagger and his kids.) I didn't see any smoke and followed the entire mountain loop without any problems.
