Yellowstone/Bozeman, Mt.

    Headed there first part of Sept. for a couple weeks fishing and real estate look see.
    Looking for recommendations for the best steak (rib eye) purveyor in Bozeman, Belgrade, etc.

    The Oasis Steakhouse in Manhanttan or the Mint in Belgrade. Two good options when I lived there over ten years ago....

    ^^John nailed it. Ate plenty of steaks at both places. LOM in logan is super good, cool vibe as well.

    Three Forks, Mt.
    The Mint has closed in Belgrade,but I think relocated to downtown Bozeman.The Oasis(Manhattan) is known across the country for their prime rib/steaks. The Mint has always been superb.Willow Creek cafe (south of Three Forks) has great atmosphere with fantastic ribs.The Sacagawea Inn in Three Forks has great food/atmosphere.Land of Magic used to be good,maybe slipped in the past ten years.Livingston has the Rib and Chop House....really great everything,especially after a day of floating the Yellowstone.Glad to offer more advice through a pm.

    I think the R&C is/was owned by a Vietnam vet who threw Teddy Turner and Hanoi Jane out of his place.

    I've been to Willow Creek a few times and bragged to my wife how great the food was. We ate there back in April and her ribs were almost inedible; weird. The Sac has been very good the past few years since they had their makeover. Ironhorse, in Three Forks, is great for breakfast.

    It is good to have these places. I usually end up at a McDonald's or a Burger King. It's hard to get the wife to stop at a half way decent place to eat. It seems that when ever we go to Bozeman, it is hurry there and hurry home. One gets tired of hamburgers after a while.

    I'm 78, I've been eating red meat for a long time now. I will keep eating it because I like it. And yes if I had to stick to a diet that left out red meat, it would be like a goat eating.
