It was nice to meet you last Sunday as we hammered the Sculpin as Coho flew from the water around us. I'm still in search of my first keeper Coho on the fly. I'll keep you posted.

Hi Ira, what does PNP stand for and what fly and color should I be using ? Looking to get my daughter into her first PNW fish in the salt. Here from NYC for a break from covid. Any help from all most appreciated! Tight lines and BIG FISH to ALL!

I live on and fish Lake Sam, up by Weber point. What is that fly pattern you just wrote about for perch? Can y0u send me tying instructions and /or a photo?

Not sure which one you are referring to. I was out on Lake Washington last weekend and caught perch on 6 different patterns. A pattern called a gloater has done well for me, but it is @b_illymac s pattern, not mine. I also caught fish on simiseal leeches, stillwater bugs, micro leeches and a few nymphs, they were not too particular.

Hi Ira. I read your excellent post on indicators. Where do you buy the pear shaped indicators that you described?

Hello Ira, it was good seeing you at Anita VanPay's garage sale. I think it's fantastic that you volunteered to help her out. We're there still tons of inventory left? I am betting there is. -Ernie Mamallo

Hello Ira, I just introduced myself to you at the FFishing show on Saturday. Thank you for the stocking information for Lone Lake. However, does the DFW have plans to rectify the low oxygen issue which caused the fish kill? Ernie Mamallo

The incident really isn't something that is likely to happen again. Just a perfect storm of things really. So no plan that I know of from WDFW. The will plant their normal planting in I think April, plus a few extras to boost the population. But it will be awhile before the lake is back to what it was before.

Hello Irafly, if those boots are old, worn and green canvas they are indeed my brother in laws. He's not too worried about getting them back in their very worn condition but if you are nearby the Bothell/Mill Creek region I'd be happy to pick them up from you sometime and get them back to him. Hi Ira, Steve Maeder here from Northwest Fly Fishing magazine. We are looking for someone to write a feature article on Quail Lake and I recall you mentioning it. Do you want to take the assignment. We have plenty of photos though anything you have would also get consideration. Pay would be at least $300. Let me know what you think and feel free to give me a call 509 306-0070.
    Best,
    Steve

Hey Ira, enjoyed your presentation at OFFC. I was wondering if I could get instructions for you for tying those jig flies. Thanks

Ira: Tom Langley here. I met you right after the meeting at the 4th corner meeting last Thursday. Great presentation. I'm a recent convert to the "vertical" technique. I have a new fly pattern idea and would llike to send you one to get your input. How can I get in touch?

Yeah, I think you'll be good then. Good luck, but if for some reason things aren't happening, think small, like size 12 small.

Let me know when and I'll see what I can swing. If nothing else I might be able to put some surprisingly effective patterns in your hand.
