Yesterday, I was shoveling snow at this time after work. It was probably the most accumulation of snow we've had all year. Today the snow was gone. The sun was shining, blu skies, birds were chirping, and the bugs were out. I saw several bees, even had one land on my hand. Midges were hatching in swarms. I hit the river at two, and had until four to try and make something happen. I swung up a pretty little wild bow on lunch break a week ago, so I figured I would try swinging again. An hour and a half, a couple hundred yards of river, and only one brief hookup. I was incredibly thirsty, but wanted to try on more spot before heading back to town. First cast I caught a pretty beat up hatchery brat, but it put up a decent struggle. It was now four, and I turned my truck for town. As I was passing the bank, I did a double take when the reader board said forty eight degrees. I hope it stays like this for the rest of the week. I don't work again until Monday.
