Whatever happened to the good old "us vs. them" mentality, meaning flyfisherpeople vs. non-flyfishers? Now I hear there is even division amongst those who don't flick feathers. Apparently gearchuckers look down their noses at "bobber-floppers". Disclaimer: this post is slathered in sarcasm. I honestly don't give two shits about what you wear or how you fish.......:)

It's still there, it just shifts about quite a bit. You can always depend on beads, nymphing, spey rods, and apparently flat-bills to piss off some poor sod. Humanity is predictable in its penchant for hate. I for one, look forward to the flat-bill fluffy jacket vs. tweed wars of 2013.

Ha Ha, and I thought I had this figured out. I got that funky coat right, but those hipster hat's I had all wrong. You young whipper snapper's are just trippy. What's with the turd tree, ha ha.

Those flat billed baseball hats make you look like a dork. And people wearing them hats backwards must suck dicks.

If people didn't have ears I believe that the ones that wear hats to big would have them covering their faces.

The only good baseball cap is the ones with curved bill......................Like mine.

This is one of the most ridiculous post I’ve read in a long time. Old man, next time you think of something to write, just stop. Ridiculously vulgar and uncalled for.

I love this post. I wear all of the above, but not typically together. You can bet your sweet ass I will be now.

And get this, one of the most well respected fly fisherman I know happens to rock a flat brim idylwilde on the river.........and lets just say he's not a spring chicken. I dare someone to tell him to take it off...I'm sure you'd get a blank stare followed up with a "....the f***s your problem?"

I have a hard time wearing baseball caps when fishing, my sunglasses always end up fogging. I do have an old wool Kangol hat that is nice to wear when it's chilly out, it's way more comfy than a baseball hat. Plus, when I'm not catching any fish I'll sometimes turn it around backwards and scream "Enough is enough! I've HAD it with these muthaf*ckin trout in this muthaf*ckin river!"

John's original post was to point out how silly it is to judge other fishermen based on what they're wearing.

What a joke. If you care what I am wearing, either on the water, off the water, or other wise, you are a sad sack. I am going to start wearing tweed on the water, and I am sure it wont be long until someone has something to say about that (although it will probably be my hoodied, puffy jacketed, flat-brimmed, brethren that give me crap). It's alway something. By the way, I teach your kids in skinny jeans and I have gauged ears.....they all want to be just like Mr. S.
